Reading and browsing
The website's code does not currently run advertising or analytics scripts, collect newsletter registrations, or create reader accounts. Search and the colour lab work in your browser; their selections are not submitted by our code.
Delivering a page involves technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information, requested URL and time. The hosting service may process this information for delivery, security and troubleshooting. The publisher's purpose in using hosting is to provide and protect the publication, based on its legitimate interests.
Your reading list
When you save a story, its identifier is kept in your browser under wardrobe-reading-list. It is not sent to a reading-list server and remains until you remove it or clear this site's browser data. This local storage supports the reading-list feature you request. You can remove individual stories with the save button or clear the list on the reading-list page.
Contacting us
If you contact the publisher, your contact details, message and any relevant correspondence are used to answer your enquiry, handle corrections or deal with rights requests. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding to readers, or a legal obligation where applicable. Keep your message limited to what is needed. Correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable recordkeeping or legal obligations.
Service providers and external sites
Hosting and, where used, communication providers process the information needed for those services. Provider-held technical records follow the relevant service's retention and privacy terms. The current hosting platform is OpenAI Sites; see OpenAI's privacy information. Provider processing may occur outside the EEA; applicable transfer arrangements are described in the provider's terms. Links to fashion houses, museums and photo sources take you to sites with their own privacy practices.
Advertising and consent
Google AdSense is being prepared for this publication, but advertising requests are not currently enabled. The verification tag and ads.txt declaration do not themselves request ads or store advertising cookies.
If Google advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure and, with the required consent, personalise advertisements using visits to this and other websites. Before activating advertising we will publish the relevant consent message, identify the advertising partners and update this notice. Google's partner-sites explanation describes its data use, and My Ad Center provides personalised-ad controls.
Your rights
Depending on the processing involved, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact the publisher to exercise a right. You may also complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this notice
